Zendure X6 Portable Charger
In today’s device-driven world, running out of juice while on the go could range from being an inconvenience to downright risky, depending on your lifestyle. The thought of being caught out in a power cut or isolated out in the wilderness with a bag full of dead devices is enough to send a chill up some spines.
Portable powerbanks have proliferated and become increasingly common travel companions over recent years. These range significantly in terms of price, quality, capacity and the types of device they can charge – with many compromising on at least one of these qualities.
The Zendure X6 Portable Charger offers an impressively balanced solution, packing a resectable 20,000mAh (45W) capacity into a stylish (1.8″ x 2.7″ x 4.8″) casing. To put that capacity in context, the manufacturer states it can charge an iPhone X 5.2 times or a (2017) Macbook 1.2 times – and it can charge most QC 3.0 devices to 80% within around 35 minutes via its Zen+ 2.0 port. It is also backwards compatible, supporting QC 2.0.
Smaller devices like wireless headphones, fitness trackers and Go Pros are also covered through use of X-Charge (lower power device) mode, which can be activating by holding down the power button for three seconds.
During its crowdfunding campaign, supporters also requested a hub capability to allow the syncing of files between compatible devices. With that in mind you can connect your laptop to the USB-C port, double-tap the power button to switch to USB Hub Mode and then plug other devices into the two additional USB-A ports Zendure have included.
Both the remaining power capacity and the charging mode of the X6 are indicated on an LCD display on the side of the casing.
In terms of accessories the device comes with a 2-in-1 USB-A/C charing cable and a travel pouch. It also includes a two year warranty.
Unlike other models in the Zendure range the X6 comes in a rugged plastic casing rather than aluminium (perhaps to reduce weight) and the black version looks like something you might expect to find in Batman’s glove box. In short, the Zendure X6 is a functional beast of a charger – and it has the capacity to back its looks.
